|Vision of Hope promotional programme for beacon centre for the Blind, narrator Don MacLean
The centre provides care for visually impaired people in the West Midlands region for those who have total sight loss right through to those with other conditions such as tunnel vision.
The programme is timely as an increasing number of people in the United Kingdom suffer with some form of visual impairment, partly due to the fact that so many more are surviving into their old age. It captures a flavour of the caring atmosphere of the centre and dedication of the hard working team of staff and volunteers as they go about their work with visually impaired people of all ages, both on site and in outreach situations.
The DVD is used as part of a campaign to raise funds for the new building work whilst raising awareness of the causes and scope of visual impairment.
